Workshop Overview
This course will firstly introduce the requirements and operational considerations for carbon capture and storage (CCS) wells. After that, it will explore the dual sourcing strategy for wells, assessing the feasibility of reusing existing wells and the design considerations for new ones, emphasizing geological and engineering factors.
The course will also cover wellbore management, encompassing corrosion prevention, material selection, well design, and equipment considerations. After that, it will move to downhole surveillance, focusing on ensuring integrity and monitoring well/reservoir performance, addresses injectivity, including drivers, concerns, and
proposed solutions. Finally, it will wrap up with a discussion on maintenance strategies for sustained well performance. This structured approach allows for a holistic understanding of CCS well requirements, sourcing, management, surveillance, injectivity, and maintenance.
