PVT (Pressure-Volume-Temperature) Properties of Reservoir Fluids
Workshop Overview
The course allows participants to analyse dry gas, wet gas and gas condensate reservoirs from a reservoir engineering point of view. The course focuses on classification of fluids, typical production signatures, drive mechanism and key issues with each fluid type.
Workshop Outline
Benefit of Attending this Workshop
- DESCRIBE the phase behaviour of reservoir fluids and production mechanisms using phase diagrams
- DETERMINE the properties of dry gas, wet gas, gas condensate, black oil, volatile oil and water
- DESCRIBE saturated reservoirs vs. under-saturated oil reservoirs
- DESCRIBE both lab method and correlations for bubble point pressure, gas and oil formation volume factors, solution and producing gas-oil ratio required for reservoir engineering calculations, for oil reservoirs
- USE PVT reports to determine oil and gas reserves
- UNDERSTAND how separator operating conditions and perform separator calculations change PVT parameters
- DESCRIBE the phase behaviour of gas hydrates
Who Should Attend to This Workshop
- Petroleum and Reservoir Engineers who need to determine accurate values of the properties of reservoir gas, oil and water for use in engineering calculations and Simulation studies.
- Production and Operations Engineers who want to have an understanding of the way reservoir fluids behave, the reservoir depletion process and for designing surface processing requirements
- Petro-physicists, Geo-physicists, Geologists and Non – Engineers who work in teams with Petroleum and Reservoir Engineers to estimate hydrocarbon in place and reserves
- Analysts who are required to identify markets and product prices
- Managers who seek to derive greater decision making on field development
