Strategic Optimization of Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) Operations
Workshop Overview
Marine businesses face a growing number of challenges and opportunities over the coming decades. Decarbonisation, technological advancement and regulatory change will all have significant effects on how marine businesses operate. Optimisation plays a crucial role in this changing landscape; when done effectively, the optimisation of business operations allows an organisation to not only survive the waves of change, but to thrive on the opportunity they bring. In this course, we will determine how the industry interprets optimisation, focusing on improving the overall performance of OSV’s engaged in the offshore oil exploration and production sector.
We will look closely at key areas including fuel consumption, supply chain logistics, technology, communication and management systems. Candidates will engage in practical exercises to learn how to manage and interpret key performance metrics associated with OSV optimisation. The course aims to broaden the attendee’s understanding by engaging with the perspective of multiple stakeholders along the upstream/downstream chain.
The course content is equally valuable to small independents, large integrated international companies and national oil companies. It consists of a number of lectures supported by practical exercises and syndicate discussions. Particular emphasis is given to understanding a holistic view of optimisation and how management approaches and solutions which can be implemented swiftly without recourse to major investment in planning and management software. Participants will
gain proficiency in optimisation assessment and management techniques, a solid understanding of how and why these activities are undertaken and how to apply these key concepts directly in their business.
